Camera Angles in The Fosters
Review of a few Camera Angles in the Show
The Fosters
I chose to watch The Fosters because it is one of my favorite shows and I'm rewatching it at the moment. There are a lot of different situations that occur in this show, good or bad. In this episode there was a bad situation where Callie went with a friend named Diamond and got into a situation where they both could've died.
I considered this shot an Over The Shoulder because we could see what Callie was seeing in-front of her. Not only can we see whats in-front of her but we can also see Callie. During this shot, Callie was in a scheme where her friend diamond had to bring Callie to her pimp of else Diamond would die. This shot gives the viewers the fear and anxiety that Callie was feeling at the time.
This shot was a Close up because everything was not in focus besides Diamond holding the gun. Callie got away from the man that was going to rape her and Diamond got ahold of the gun. They hid in the bathroom because it was the safest place in the motel room.
This is an Extreme closeup showing the location of Callie. After Diamond and Callie hid in the bathroom, Stef received Callies location as an image and called for backup and drove to the motel that Callie and Diamond were at.
This is a Head on shot. After Stef received Callies location Stef send law enforcement to the hotel and when they got there Callie and Diamond ran out of the motel room because they heard a gun shot in the room next to them. In this shot Callie is running towards the camera and we can see the fear that she has in her eyes.
While Callie was dealing with her situation, Brandon came home to his room completely destroyed by his brother. This is a Low Angle Shot. This shot shows Brandon looking around his room and you can see how surprised he is and how sad he is to see some of his things are destroyed all because his brother was misinformed.
This shot is a High Angle Shot and shows some of the destruction that happened in Brandons room. Brandon has a lot of things in his room that are very sentimental to him. When Jesus went into Brandons room he let the information that he received get to his head and didn't bother to see if everything he heard was actually true. Instead of asking Brandon about the situation he went and destroyed Brandon's things without thinking how this would affect Brandon. Later that night, Jesus went to Brandons room but Brandon just shut the door on Jesus. Showing some objects on the floor from a high angle shows the amount of destruction that was made by Jesus.
